Inspection and Testing
Inspection and testing of electrical installations is a legal requirement and must be carried out on all new work and at regular intervals thereafter as outlined below:
- For domestic sites, this should be every 10 years or on change of ownership
- For rented residential property, every 5 years or on change of occupancy
- For Holiday Accommodation, most letting agencies require annual checks
- Commercial sites, every 5 years or on change of occupancy
- Agricultural and horticultural sites, every 3 years
- Caravan sites, every year
- Caravans, every 3 years
